2013 Annual Meeting and Holiday Luncheon
The Council of New Jersey Grantmakers cordially invites you to join staff and trustees representing grantmaking organizations across the state for a signature networking event for New Jersey’s philanthropic community.
This year’s meeting will feature a dynamic presentation and Q&A session with Peter Frumkin, Professor of Social Policy and Faculty Director of the Center for High Impact Philanthropy at the University of Pennsylvania, and author of The Essence of Strategic Giving: A Practical Guide for Donors and Fundraisers.
In the face of global financial problems and stressed government budgets, the ability of private philanthropy to step in and help solve public problems–and support vital private institutions as well–has perhaps never been more important. But how can donors be sure their contributions will be effective?
And don’t forget the ever-popular pre-meeting workshop. This year we will offer Facilitation: Tools of the Trade. Skilled facilitation is key for effective foundation leaders, whether trustees or staff. From board meetings to grantee convenings to funder collaboratives, being able to confidently lead meetings strengthens your work and makes it more productive and enjoyable.
