Monday marked International Dog Day and our social media feeds were flooded with pictures of our four-legged friends, so we’d like to dedicate this edition of our Featured Friday series to our Foundation Source canine companions! Our dogs make our lives better and give us so much, which helps us best support the good works of our clients— it’s a win-win! Whether they’re looking longingly at us during a Zoom meeting or curling up by our side to offer us support throughout our workday as we assist our clients, our team is grateful to have our fur babies as part of team Foundation Source.
3 Fun Facts About International Dog Day:
- Founded in 2004 by celebrity pet lifestyle expert, animal behaviorist, author and animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige.
- It’s a way to give back to dogs as a “thank you” for all that they do in our lives.
- Hollywood A-listers such as Jennifer Aniston, Ryan Reynolds and Oprah Winfrey have lent their voices to the cause, sharing stories and pictures of their own beloved dogs and encouraging adoption.

Names: David and Moana
State: Connecticut
Fun Facts: I have two very lazy retired racing greyhounds, who spend much of their time snoozing in my son’s room. David (the boy on the floor, racing name GLS DeviousDavid) and Moana (upside down on the bed—the whole litter was named after Disney characters) raced in West Virginia. They are both turning 6 years old this year and actually ran against each other a couple of times. We live in Stamford, and they love short walks and sleeping, and hate thunder and fireworks. We support Greyhound Rescue and Rehab, the adoption organization.
