Today, we remember those who lost their lives or a loved one 25 years ago. In the days, months, and years that followed, countless more lives were forever altered — first responders who gave everything to save others, families who lost parents, children, spouses, and friends, and a nation that came together in grief and resolve.
Honoring 9/11 Day and the National Day of Service and Remembrance
Foundation Source is proud to support 9/11 Day, a nonprofit organization founded in the years following the attacks. Through its efforts, 9/11 Day founded and now leads the federally recognized September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Marking the 25th Anniversary Through Service
This year’s anniversary carries special weight. A quarter-century has passed, and 9/11 Day marked the occasion in a big way, partnering with hundreds of organizations across the country to host large-scale meal-packing events in 50 cities nationwide.
Foundation Source was honored to be part of this nationwide effort. Fifteen Foundation Source employees, located in cities across the country, rolled up their sleeves today to volunteer at these meal-packing events.
What makes this effort especially meaningful is its local impact: every single meal packed will stay within the community where it was assembled. These meals will be distributed through food banks affiliated with Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization, ensuring that the fruits of this labor go directly to neighbors in need, no matter which of the 50 participating cities the meals were packed in.
Why This Work Matters
Volunteering in this way allows us to honor the memory of those lost on 9/11 while also addressing a very real and ongoing need in communities across America.
As we reflect on the past 25 years, we are reminded that acts of service, however small, are a powerful way to honor those we lost and to reaffirm the values of compassion, unity, and resilience that came to define the American response to that tragic day.
We are grateful to our employees who gave their time today and had a meaningful opportunity to honor the lives and legacy of those affected by 9/11 through service to others.
