Rochelle Brizan
Senior Operations Specialist

Q: When did you join Foundation Source and what is your role?
I joined Foundation Source on December 14, 2000, and I’m a Senior Operations Specialist.

Q: What drew you to the company?
Foundation Source was a brand-new company with the opportunity for growth.

Q: How have you affected change and/or supported clients in your role?
I make sure that the charities our clients donate to are validated before the grant is made.

Q: You’ve seen us evolve as a company. What change(s) are most striking for you?
The processes we use to get things done, the number of clients, and the different services we provide. It is amazing to experience the change from doing everything manually to now having programs that make the tasks more efficient.

Q: What do you think the next 25 years will hold for Foundation Source?
New innovations and administering to a larger portion of private foundations in the US! Its capabilities and achievements will surpass those of the past 25 years. It will be amazing.

Q: What are you most excited about for the future of philanthropy?
The ability of our clients to touch the lives of many more people around the world, such as in the Yungas Jungle of Bolivia where children and teachers risk their lives with every trip to and from school.

Q: What was your favorite project and/or what do you remember most fondly?
My fondest memory is our “all hands-on deck” moments. At Foundation Source, employees are cross trained, so whenever a team needs assistance, other teams are ready and able to help. For example, during tax season, I enjoyed assisting with the preparation of tax returns, and during giving season, colleagues from the tax processing team assist with charity research. It is amazing how well everyone works together.

Q: What’s the most inspiring thing you’ve seen a client do?
Provide the opportunity for Foundation Source employees to travel and assist with their charitable work in Africa and South America. Those who participated saw first-hand the work the foundation does.

We’d like to thank Rochelle for sharing her story with us!
