It’s Featured Friday! We’re excited to continue our series with Edwin Walker, Product Manager. Edwin has played a key role in developing Impactfully, our foundation and grants management platform and mobile app. Keep reading to learn what it’s like to work on the product team at a tech-forward company!
When and why did you join Foundation Source?
I started in February of 2021. I loved the idea of joining a team that would focus on building products and software that would allow foundations to continue to be charitable.
What do you love about working at Foundation Source?
It sounds cliche but I’ve never worked in an environment whereas a company, we truly go above and beyond for our clients. The cherry on top of why I love working here would be the clients who are so unique from one another yet share the same goal to make a difference in the world.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is interacting with our clients and learning about their wants, needs, pains, and dreams. I then take that information back to our internal teams to use tech to bring those ideas to life.
We truly care about our clients’ needs and dreams. Although we’re an industry leader in this space, that does not prevent us from being nimble and innovative to address what’s important to our clients. That’s very rare!”

What do you look forward to each day?
Learning how to enhance our customer’s experience today, tomorrow, and beyond through innovative technology backed by decades of expertise.
What does your job entail?
My job entails capturing feedback from clients, learning what our competitors are doing in this space, engaging in cross-functional teams with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Operations, Legal and more. We strategically plan from three week sprints to a full long-term roadmap.
What is your team like and what has your experience been with company culture?
My team is special! I work with highly talented individuals who know how to balance having a good time with getting things done.
What has been your favorite project at Foundation Source?
My favorite project has been planning, developing, and launching Impactfully, our self-service solution for private foundations. Developing our mobile app is a close second. 😊
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
I was fortunate to join Foundation Source in a role that allows me to be close to clients and hear what’s important to them to support their charitable giving. I’ve learned so much about the philanthropic space.
What parts of Foundation Source’s mission do you connect with?
One part that sticks out to me is the continual thought to #BeGiving. That’s not just in words but in practice and action.
